The Senorita Locklear Memorial Endowed Scholarship Fund honors a beloved Bethune-Cookman alumna and community leader whose life was rooted in service, education, and excellence.

A Daytona Beach native, Senorita earned her associate’s degree from Bethune-Cookman College in 1944 before completing her Bachelor’s in Business Administration at Hampton Institute. She later returned to Bethune-Cookman, where she worked as a secretary and proudly served under three university presidents—Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, Dr. Richard V. Moore, and Dr. Oswald P. Bronson.

Known for her mastery of the written and spoken word, her versatility, and her deep love for her community, she also served on the BCC Women’s Advisory Board, touching countless lives with her loyalty, kindness, and warmth.
