A message from Trustee Brewer:
In the Navy, we learn to see beyond the horizon—to anticipate, prepare, and act so the next watch is ready to stand the line. Today, I’m asking you to help us do the same for talented students at Bethune-Cookman University, one of our nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). With your support, we can secure scholarships that turn potential into performance—and promise into leadership.
Bethune-Cookman has long been an anchor of excellence, cultivating generations of engineers, teachers, nurses, scientists, entrepreneurs, public servants, and service members. Yet too many students—often first-generation and high-achieving—still face a simple obstacle: financing a college education. A modest scholarship can be the difference between staying enrolled and stopping out, between a dream deferred and a life of service fulfilled.
As a former commanding officer, I measured readiness by people—by the training, mentorship, and resources we invest so they can succeed under pressure. Scholarships are readiness for life. When we lift one student, we fortify a family, strengthen a community, and widen the leadership pipeline our nation needs.
I hope you’ll stand with me. Together, we can ensure that financial barriers never hold back the next generation of scholars and leaders educated at Bethune-Cookman University. Click the support link now to donate and support our talented students.
With respect and gratitude,
Admiral (Ret.) David L. Brewer
