Hello Friends,
History will show that in 1923 The Daytona Literary and Industrial Training School for Negro Girls began a merger with The Cookman Institute of Jacksonville, Florida, and that the merger was completed in 1925. The merged institution was called the Daytona-Cookman Collegiate Institute, and they fielded the inaugural football team in the school’s history. The record would show that the Wildcats lost that game 56-6 to its opponent. However, over the past 100 years, Bethune-Cookman University has managed to put together a storied history in its athletic endeavors. The year, 2024, is a pivotal time in the history of Bethune-Cookman University, and it’s time to celebrate 120 Years, recognize all athletes who dawned the Wildcat uniforms, reestablish, reengage, and relaunch the Wildcat Athletic Booster organization.

I have faith that all who are aware of the Legacy of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune will be proud to join the Wildcat Athletic Booster Club, which will assist all Bethune-Cookman University athletic programs and student-athletes to reach heights beyond their wildest dreams.
