The Christopher “Cj” Jones Scholarship

Christopher Ulysee Jones, Jr. was born in Daytona Beach, where he attended St. Paul's Catholic Church and Father Lopez High School. Christopher later moved to Tampa, where he attended Freedom High School. After graduating, Christopher returned to Daytona Beach, where he attended Bethune Cookman University majoring in Criminal Justice with a graduation date of November 2020. 

Christopher, a God-loving young man, a giver, thoughtful, loyal, kind, honest, social butterfly, the first male to graduate at his grandmother's alma mater and a first male HBCU graduate, an artist, musician, an entrepreneur, owner/operator of Yang WXLF Apparel, Paint Tha City, a golfer, videographer, producer, music composer, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, and friend to anyone.

To know him was to understand the eclectic person he was.

The Christopher "CJ" Jones Scholarship Fund was created by his parents, James & April Jones to honor his memory and the person he aspired to be. This scholarship will benefit Bethune Cookman University students to assist with personal and educational needs once announced winner of the essay competition.  Each year a $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to one Junior or Senior within the Criminal Justice Major in the fall, and a $500.00 scholarship will be awarded to one Junior or Senior within the Mass Communication Major in the spring, bringing the total yearly award to $1,000.  

Chris's parents created the Annual Christopher "CJ" Jones Charity Golf Event, all proceeds go to the Christopher “Cj” Jones Foundation with a portion in his honor to Bethune Cookman University, which is Christopher’s alma mater.
