Bethune-Cookman Day of Giving 2022

The Day of Giving is B-CU's annual giving day. A fundraising event that invites our community of supporters to participate in the mission to bring education to those who want to learn and carry on Dr. Bethune's dedication to education and service. The goal is to expand the reach and impact of our mission by sending phenomenal leaders into the world.

Throughout this event, alumni, faculty, staff, family, and friends of the institution come together to support the many faces of Bethune-Cookman University. By getting involved with B-CU's Day of Giving, you can join our mission to carry on the vision of her work. 

This year we are proud that the statue depicting Bethune-Cookman University's beloved foundress, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune, will officially be unveiled in the U.S Capitol’s Statuary Hall. One of two sculptures representing the State of Florida, the sculpture will stand among other works of art symbolizing each of the 50 United States in one of our country's most popular destinations.

As people from our nation gather in Washington D.C. to witness this monumental moment, we will be hosting the Mary McLeod Bethune Statuary Hall Installation Watch Party, a fundraising event benefitting B-CU students. 

Throughout the event, our focus will center on the legacy of Dr. Bethune, the daughter of former slaves, who rose above her circumstances, and not only founded our great University with five little girls, $1.50 in her pocket, and a fierce faith in God, but also a pioneering civil rights activist, a women’s advocate, an entrepreneur, a writer, businesswoman, educational advisor to five U.S Presidents, and more.
